The United Building
Home of both the Austen BioInnovation Institute and the Knight Center for Digital Excellence (a strategic partnership between Cleveland's OneCommunity and Akron's Knight Foundation), the United Commerce Center represents an important address for the city of Akron. The building's name reflects the idea that those working within its walls have come together to form a message that goes out to local, regional and even national markets through the broadcast and telecommunications center United has become. The United Building is home of One Community, NPR, PBS, Western Reserve Public Media and 89.7 FM. It also houses a number of news bureaus that provide the community with daily news and cultural events.
