Akron's Historic District History

Where were your offices located before moving to Akron's historic district?
The agency was first located in a big old house in Fairlawn Heights. We were primed for growth, but we literally ran out of room to work. Plus, it was inconvenient for clients to visit for meetings, so I spent plenty of time on the road, driving to their locations.

Why did you make the move to Akron's historic district?
Our business is advertising... so our clients expect us to have a finger on the pulse of the latest trends and artistic ventures. For me, Akron's Historic District was the only place that met these requirements. I saw the potential of a bustling, central location. And with the art museum opening across the street, it's exciting to be working within the heart of the city's cultural movement.

What benefits has your business enjoyed as a result of this move?
I initially struggled with the expense of moving downtown. But once I did, I couldn't believe I didn't make the move sooner. The benefits have been immediate and invaluable. I'm now surrounded by decision makers who make great things happen in Akron. I'm constantly running into influential people at the restaurants around here. This increased exposure has enhanced the agency's reputation and helped us acquire new clients. Clients are impressed with the space and sometimes use it as a retreat to work away from their own offices. And, my employees have stepped up productivity and responsibility now that we're in an environment that fosters collaboration and creativity.

What is your vision for the future of your business?
I plan to continually invest in the location as my business grows; my office space is a constant evolution. I'm looking forward to the opening of the art museum. I'll be visiting regularly for creative inspiration. Most of all, I'm enjoying watching growth on the horizon - for this historic district and Keathley Advertising.
